Rapid test for dogs - detection of antibodies Ehrlichia Canis-Ehrlichia Ewingii-Borrelia Burgdorferi-Anaplasma Phagocytophilum-Anaplasma Platys & Dirofilaria
The Canivet Combo Test is a fast, reliable, and comprehensive diagnostic tool that enables the simultaneous detection of six major canine vector-borne diseases. Ideal for routine screenings, early diagnosis of suspected cases, or preventive checks in high-risk areas.
Detects Antibodies Against:
• Ehrlichia canis & Ehrlichia ewingii (Ehrlichiosis)
• Borrelia burgdorferi (Lyme Disease)
• Anaplasma phagocytophilum & Anaplasma platys (Anaplasmosis)
• Dirofilaria immitis (Heartworm disease)
Disease Overview:
• Anaplasmosis is caused by Anaplasma bacteria transmitted through ticks. A. phagocytophilum targets neutrophils, while A. platys affects platelets, leading to Canine Cyclic Thrombocytopenia. Antibodies appear around 2 weeks after infection and may persist for years.
• Lyme disease (Borrelia burgdorferi) is a multisystemic infection that mainly affects the joints and nervous system. It is transmitted via tick bites. Antibodies may persist from past infections, and most infected dogs remain asymptomatic. Incubation can last between 2 to 3 months.
• Dirofilaria immitis, the parasite responsible for heartworm disease, affects the cardiovascular and respiratory systems and is spread through mosquito bites.
Methodology:
The test is based on lateral flow immunochromatography, using antibody adhesion for quick and accurate on-site detection.
Result Interpretation:
• Positive (+): A line appears in both the control (C) and test (T) zones – even if the test line is faint.
• Negative (?): A clear line appears only in the control (C) zone. No line in the test (T) zone.
• Invalid: No line in the control (C) zone, regardless of the presence of a test (T) line.
